We Are All Bodies of Water by Astrida Neimanis

This rare 13 x 22” letterpress poster is the second work in the someone:water series of nine letterpress broadsides celebrating water.

Astrida Neimanis is a feminist writer and academic. Water inspires her to map connections, and try to unblock the flows between scholarly and creative texts.

Series editor Beatriz Hausner is a poet and publisher, whose work is rooted in the legacy of international surrealism. Her latest collection is Sew Him Up (2010).

Someone.ca merges the past through careful hand-set type and letterpress printing, to the present, with inherent experimental play with digital types and design techniques.

Deborah Barnett's sparkling layout captures Ms Neimanis’ text in columns shaped by the text itself and the juxtaposition of the work's two voices.

Aaron Benson printed the broadsides by hand one impression at a time in three blues, from photopolymer plates and wood type. Titling is printed from wood type.

The complete edition of 52 posters will be signed by the author.

Twenty six copies of this piece will be lettered, signed and retained for the someone:water series collection, scheduled for release in 2012.

After 14 August launch, copies remaining will be priced at $100 - $300 framed

At the launch on 14 August, the posters will be sold at half price: $50 - $250 framed
